USB Wireless Dongle (best connection method for Switch 2)
- Set the usb dongle's physical slider to PC on either the Xbox or Playstation Maxwell.
- Plug the wireless usb dongle into either of the Switch's type C ports if using the handheld mode. If using the Switch 2 in docked mode, use one of the 2 available type A USB ports on the dock instead.
- On the Switch 2, go into the System > Audio settings, and on Audio Output Source, select 'USB (Chat-Audeze Maxwell)'
To use the Maxwell's physical volume control (on the headset's left cup), set the output device on Nintendo Switch 2 to 'USB (Chat-Audeze Maxwell)'
Game/Chat balance is not supported on Switch 2. You can use the Game/Chat wheel to finetune your main audio source volume in a pinch.
Wired USB Connection
NOTE: Due to unexpected volume control behavior with wired USB connections on Switch 2, we recommend using the wireless USB dongle connection.
- Connect your Maxwell using the included USB-C cable to any of the Switch 2's USB ports (docked or handheld).
- On the Switch 2 settings menu, open the System > Audio settings, and on Audio Output Source, select 'USB (Chat-Audeze Maxwell)'
NOTE: We recommend using the Game/Chat mix dial on Maxwell to control volume when using Switch 2 with wired USB. Please set the volume levels on the Switch 2 and Maxwell to maximum, then use the Game/Chat mix dial to adjust to your desired level. Once past the halfway mark of the Game/Chat mix, the volume is at maximum and will not increase further.
Microphone Output (USB connections)
- On the Switch 2 settings menu, open the System > Audio settings, on Input Microphone select 'USB - Chat-Audeze Maxwell'
NOTE: We recommend disabling Microphone Noise Suppression on Switch 2 if you are using the Maxwell AI Noise Suppression.
Bluetooth
NOTE: We encourage you to use the Maxwell wireless USB dongle for microphone access, and optimal latency and sound performance. Maxwell microphone not supported by Switch 2 on BT.
- In the Switch 2 System Settings > Bluetooth Audio, click 'Pair Device' to put the Switch 2 into pairing mode.
- Double press the Maxwell's power button twice until you hear the voice state 'Pairing'. On the Switch 2, Audeze Maxwell BT should show up on screen. Click to pair.
- You can also reconnect to your currently paired device on the Quick home menu (when pressing and holding the Home button down).
Aux/3.5mm Wired Connection
NOTE: We highly recommend using the wireless USB dongle for best sound quality and volume output.
- Connect the Switch 2 in handheld mode through the Switch 2 headphone jack.
- Ensure that the 3.5mm/AUX cable is plugged into the very bottom 3.5mm port on Maxwell between the USB input and Game/Chat wheel. (The D shaped 3.5mm port is for the Maxwell's boom microphone, not an AUX connection.)
- Connected analog headphones/headsets will appear as 'System Audio Jack' on the Current Output and Input.
NOTE: For optimal volume, we recommend setting the Switch 2 volume to maximum and adjusting to your desired level on the Maxwell volume dial.
