Bluetooth connection strength in Penrose has been consistently stable in all our tests; there are no known issues with the Bluetooth antenna or firmware. That being said, every manufacturer will implement Bluetooth a little differently and incompatibilities can happen, so trying multiple devices is the best way to find the source of any issues you might be experiencing.
If you're having trouble with Bluetooth connection stability or pairing your Penrose to a new device, below are some tips that may help:
- "Forget" your Penrose from all your source devices and re-pair it to a single device following these steps. When putting Penrose into pairing mode, remember to double-click the power button slowly, about once per second: click, hippopotamus, click.
- Make sure your Penrose and source device don't have other open BT connections. Bluetooth transmitters can only handle a limited number of connections at once. Telling your source device to "forget" any unused BT devices and/or turning off any unused devices can help with connection strength and decrease the likelihood for other connection issues.
- Power cycle your Penrose (turn it off and on again), and make sure it's fully charged.
- Do the same with your source device.
- If you're having trouble with one source device, please try another device to see if the issue persists.
- Wireless stability can be affected by nearby devices and appliances as they are sources of RMF or EM interference. If you're hearing choppy or distorted audio, you can follow some of the same troubleshooting advice in our wireless troubleshooting guide.
